Last week the Valley Center Board of Education unveiled a plan to open up school campuses in phases through out the month of June. The move green lighted summer strength and conditioning through the Hornet Pride program, albeit in a limited format relative to previous summers. The high school and middle school programs will operate as separate entities this summer, each taking place on their respective campuses. Youth Hornet Pride for 6th grade and below is postponed indefinitely and their will be no Adult Hornet Pride this summer.
The high school program is free of cost, while the middle school program cost $25 per participant. Checks can be made payable to Hornet Pride. Scholarships are available for those in need. Students will be assigned to specific session times and groups to accommodate smaller group sizes per the district’s planned phases of reopening. Therefore, it is imperative students are signed up prior to registration deadlines so that Hornet Pride staffers can communicate sessions and group assignments to students and parents. The registration deadline for high school students is May 27th, 2020. The registration deadline for middle school students is Friday, May 29th, 2020.
